So, I have been scanning the web for days since I got these two male cockatiels, Leroy and Milo. Apparently Leroy is Milos father. (I got them from a lady that has a few other type of birds and just needed to rehome these guys) She said they never bonded with her and needed to find someone who had more time to bond with them. They are adjusting very well with me, still skittish but i can see they are starting to feel more comfortable with me now. So heres my problem- The lady said they are very bonded with each other and would not do good being separated, but when i got them home, i noticed that Milo charges at Leroy and pecks at him and bites him and pulls his feathers (not pulling them out just tugs them). Leroy fights back if he gets to annoyed, but sometimes it gets out of hand, they will be in the cage and sometimes they knock each other off balance and wont stop till i whistle at them. (some times that doesn't even work) Now for my question- SHOULD i seperate them? I would hate to split them up after being together for 4 years but im worried about their safety. Leroy wants attention from me but then milo gets jealous and bites at him till he gets him away from me. but then milo doesn't even want my attention. ugh. :/ some one please help.
