I kept two of the five kittens from my cat's litter. They are about 9 weeks old now, and one will still nurse from his mother but also eat the kitten food, but the other one completely relies on his mother. I have tried different brands of food, and different brands of canned food, but he is completely uninterested. Yet, when I break off pieces of chicken or beef from my own food, he will eat it out of my hand. I did try feeding him the kitten food from my hand but still no luck. What should I do?! Obviously he cannot nurse for his entire life. I can tell his mother wants to wean him off but he is so skinny from not eating, he needs her milk.
