I just had surgery and my cat (who usually hates being touched and is not very affectionate) will NOT leave me alone. I have been on bed-rest for over a week and the entire time he refuses to leave my side. If I leave the room, he comes with me--even to the bathroom! If I am sleeping, he has to be curled up right next to my face. In fact, he will even paw at my face or arm until I put my arm around him if I'm not already holding him. And whenever I leave for a checkup or to go pick up food, my roommate says he cries at the door and tries to run away when it opens. He has also been very naughty lately and has been breaking all sorts of rules, like jumping on the counter REPEATEDLY--seemingly just to get a reaction. Most of the behavior is pretty cute, but it is sudden and not like him. He seems to be eating, drinking and using the bathroom just fine though, and nothing else seems "off". Is he likely just stressed by me being unwell? Or do you think he needs to see a vet? Thanks! :)
