Will my male cat help take care of my new kittens?

I just rescued some orphan kittens. Their eyes are open so I think they are at least 2 weeks old. I am VERY new to cat stewardship. I just got Josh two weeks ago. He's a good kitty. I'm trying to get him to adopt and help me take care of these kittens. He seems to be interested in them but so far he still won't groom them and he was sort of playing with them but the babies seemed scared of him so I put them back in their basket. But I think this will change in time. My friend said I can give them cows milk diluted with baby formula. Is this ok? I don't have any baby formula so I've been giving them regular cows milk with some kitten dried food that I allowed to soak and I crush with a spoon. Is this okay? Also do you think I can ever get Josh to accept the babies as his own and let his paternal instincts kick in? I live in a small town in Mexico there is NO access to this KMR stuff or any veterinarian and no such thing as shelters here. I hope my English is okay.
