Our neighbor has been looking after our cat as we have been on holiday for 5 days. Usually she sleeps inside but she stays out whilst we are away. We came home today and she has a bite on her ear. It is quite deep but isn't quite right through it is on the top and inside of her ear. It was all scabbed over on both sides with the inside having crusty red/yellow on it. I have pulled off all the crusty stuff and dapped it with some water on a cotton bud. It doesn't look too bad just red and the top has some whitish stuff which appears to just be the wound weeping. We go away again not tomorow but the next day for 11 days. Do you think this wound will heal by itself or would she need antibiotics to treat infection? Its just that our neighour would need to give it to her if she needed it. Advice please Really appreciate it
