How to get a puppy into an apartment that only takes adult sized dogs, make a therapy dog?

So the apartments I live at only accept dogs at minimum 1 year of age. I already put a big deposit on a puppy and would rather raise my dog from the beginning. I could try and get the dog as a companion animal. I have had fertility issues and so it would be comforting to have a dog. Although my landlord doesn't have to accept that's it's a puppy. Being that I work there as well makes it that much more difficult. The size of dog will be about the same size when full grown since it's a miniature/toy size. Should I just say it's over a year old? (they never ask for documentation either). Help!
