Should I feel guilty for giving up on a snake?

She is, from what I can tell, around a foot and a half to two feet long. She is very bitchy, has shedding problems, and hates being touched or disturbed. The first time I tried to feed her, she attacked me and nearly bit me. I am a bit afraid of her because she is very unpredictable. I have owned two corn snakes in the past. One I purchased, the other given to me. I believe the first one was let out by one of my brother's friends and it would not have survived without the heat of the incloser (a very cold winter). I had owned the little guy for a few years. The second was passed onto me by my sister, when it was around 3 ft long. I did not have the heart to tell her I didn't want the snake, so I took it in and later gave him to a reptile store (about a year later). Later, I purchased a young ball python, the one I'm talking about today. I feel that giving up on the snake makes me a bad pet owner. I know that she will be my last snake because she has left me with so many frustrating, frightened memories. I have owned her for around four months now. I feel that the fact that I've owned three snakes in such a short period (one at a time) of time makes me look pathetic, like a child who threw out old toys when they got old. I think that if the reptile store will not take her in that I will have to take her to a vet to be "put down."
