So I had 4 guppies in my fish tank. My water parameters are at good levels. However, two of my fish died in the last 2 days. I at first suspected fin nipping in the first one, as I had noticed part of his tail missing suddenly and he was hiding. I thought I'd wait it out and see what happened, but he died the next day. I was slightly suspicious of another guppy of mine having it, as he had a lyre tail and the top part seemed to maybe (by maybe I mean it was really hard to tell) be getting a little shorter bit by bit. I thought again I'd keep an eye on it and grab an anti-biotic as soon as I had the chance (I have school and part time work that starts and ends outside the hours of my local petshop) so I'd go as soon as I could. But I just found him dead on the rocks as well. The guppies all seemed to be getting along. Last week, the power went out so the temperature in my tank dropped a little, a couple degrees. What could have killed them? The stress from the temperature drop (a week later however), fin nipping/bullying stress (bullying that I never noticed) or fin rot that got them on the drop of a hat? I just want to know so it doesn't happen again :( Thanks! P.S. - They were both acting fine the morning before they died. I got home yesterday from work right as my first guppy was dying, and the second was dead by the time I got home. But they were both completely normal acting before I went to school. P.P.S., they both have been in the tank for 3 weeks. No, I inspected the bodies and they looked totally fine. No weird spots or anything. I have a little oto cat that cleans the tank, I haven't yet cleaned it. I have rinsed the filter in old tank water once and that's it. Any water I put in there was reverse-osmosis demineralized water.
