Will my guinea pig climb its ramp?

So my nephews hamster passed and one of them got another hamster and the other got a guinea pig so I got one to give his company. We got a 99 dollar cage that was for rabbits (I asked at petco it is the exact same thing as the one for guinea pigs just bigger since we got 2) and we just got them yesterday we set up the cage with their snack bowl and their hay on the bottom floor. their is a (not steep at all and has the same grips as the cage for guinea pigs) ramp going up to the second floor which is 1/5 the size of the entire cage. So far I haven't noticed them going up to eat. I know they need a few days to get used to their new home I just wanted to make sure they would eventually use the ramp? Ive put mine on the top layer and instead of using the ramp to go back down he jumped straight to the bottom. Any help is appreciated, thanks
